LAKE POWELL

Lake Powell is so GREAT!! I love how the pictures turn out with all the different colors!

The first day we got there it was pretty stormy and windy. This is a picture of the clouds rolling by.
This is where we always camp. This is an island in the middle of the lake that used to shelter us from some of the wind, but this year the water was so high that it was alot further away so it didn't really help out alot. They say the water is raising a foot each day. I am not sure it was a foot but it did raise alot while we were there. It was crazy!!!
The Fishing was the best we have ever had down there. I am the proud owner of the First Fish of the Trip!! I was seriously sooo excited. (Below is the traditional pose for when you catch a fish... kissy kissy)
The small fish are catfish, then the really shinny one is a striper, and then there is a large mouth bass. Everyone on the trip caught a fish except one person and they only fished for an hour the whole trip.




The water was pretty cool so John David only got his feet wet.
John David had so much fun with all of our cousins! They made him laugh so hard! it was very cute!

This is John Davids life jacket. It is the smallest size they make.

John David Loves his Uncle! He smiles every time he is around. It is so cute. John David would be asleep and Gordon would check on him and if the blanket was at all on his face Gordon would come tell me and move it off. It is very sweet!!

We went for a walk and John David fell asleep in his carrier. So when we came back I laid him down in it. He slept in it for about an hour.
John David is such a happy boy! My dad has said like three times he was worried about taking a baby this small to lake Powell but he was very surprised that he did so well! This is him in the car on the ride home. He love this little from that sister blowers gave him! It is just the right size for him to hold and suck on his face..

JOHN DAVID also rolled over twice on the boat with no help. it was very exciting.

Oh, how we love our dogs!!!

I can't tell you how grateful I am that we are able to have dogs. Of course they do get annoying and make a mess but I still love them. They make me feel so safe while I am by myself. They keep people out of our yard for the most part, and our little boy giggles at them.
This is John David's stuffed dog. It is so soft. It was on his belly and he was eating its face. I thought it was funny.

John David LOVES the dogs. Every time they are around he is smiling and talking. He is normally a very happy boy but the dogs just enhance it.

It is very interesting Shilo will try to lick his face all the time. Baby just sits and looks and smells him I don 't think she has licked his face once. I am very surprised at how gentle she is with him. When he cries she tries to see what is wrong. It is very sweet. Sorry you can't see his face in these but it was the best I could do by myself. JJ is working.

Last few weeks

So here are some pictures from the last few weeks. We went swimming for the first time last weekend. The water was a little cool with the wind blowing but really not that bad. He loved it but was really tired so it didn't last long.

We also have been trying out some of our PJ's, and not swaddle him at night. It is going ok. I think we will still swaddle most of the time.
John David is getting better at holding things you just have to put them in his hand.
Last week he turned on his side from his belly, so I helped him out and pushed him the rest of the way over. Then I put him back on his belly and I wasn't watching and he rolled all the way over by himself. I don't think it was on purpose because he has not done it since but it got me all excited. He is getting so big it is crazy.

John Davids Favortie Person

John David has shown a preferance to one person. I find it kind of annoying cause it is not me but I love watching the two interact. I guess I am boring cause he sees me 24/7. I really could not ask for it to be anyone else. This person loves this little boy so much! Of course you are all wondering who this Great person is and of course it is............

Random stuff.

Eyelashes

John David has such long eye lashes! I think they grow like every day. We have been bringing the dogs around more often and he seems to like it. In this video he is getting tired and baby is not sure what to think of it. Shilo trys to lick his face all the time so we try to keep her farther away.

The second video is of him really trying to hit the middle toy on the bar. He really likes this toy and one other that he will concentrate on hitting.

He giggled!!

So on Sunday JJ had to work at night, so it was just me and John David. I was feeling kinda bad about ignoring the dogs so much, so I let them in the front room with us. Well they were very excited and they always play in the front room when they are in. They lay down, put their heads together and act like they are biting each other. It is pretty funny. Anyway John David was watching them and he giggled at them. It was so cute. He has giggled in his sleep before but not while he was awake. He has done it every time I have let the dogs in(and now that I know he likes them it has been every night). JJ still has not seen it because he seems to be gone all the time.

It has been pretty hot here and we have not turned the air on yet so this is why he is naked.

Blocks

These are the blocks that we got from our Pottery Barn Gift Card from my work. I was very impressed by them. They aren't so heavy that a little kid can't pick the up. I am very excited to start playing with them. (I had to play with them already just to make sure they were safe to keep.)

And of course I have to show you how cute my son is! This is our church outfit for the last couple of weeks.This is my chicken pot pie that I made. I didn't mean for it to have a face on it but it did and I thought it was funny.

2 MONTHS

So I can't believe my baby is already two months. It really does not seem possible. You wait for them to come for what seems like forever and then when they are here time flys by so fast!! I love him so much! We had our two month appointment yesterday, He now weighs 12 lb 13 oz 75%. and is 23 inches long 50%. He is doing really well holding his head up. We did not get our shots yet I told the doctor that I was concered and she was pleasnt but told me that she would not do anything to my child that she wouldn't to hers. She also said that we had to feel good about it and for us to go home talk, research and pray about it.(Her dad is a preacher hahah)She did say that if she could talk us into anything it would be the meningitis shots, because that can kill him. we are still researching. Here are his two month Pictures. This was taken saturday night durring his bath. These both were taken Sunday morning. He is such a happy boy in the morning.

Baby Holders

So recently we have been trying out different ways to hold John David. I decided to get a sling and we also had a different carrier. He absolutely loved the sling and the carrier took a little while to get used to but after that he fell asleep. Here are some cute pictures of both.

Love Spring!

I love the colors of spring! These are all from my neighborhood. The one thing I miss are all my moms tulips. I am planting some this year.
